hmmer2 software package provides profile hidden Markov models for protein sequence analysis, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hmmer2
hmmer2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hmmer2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hmmer2 *
You will get with hmmer2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
